Departing early from Iquitos, you’ll travel by private ground transportation to Nauta and board a fully equipped motorboat to navigate the mighty Marañón River deep into the reserve.
Along the way, explore protected primary rainforest, spot pink and grey river dolphins, observe a high density of wildlife, and witness ancient trees, medicinal plants, and vibrant birdlife. Visit the local community of Buenos Aires for lunch, then continue to Huaylla Lagoon, where you may see sloths, monkeys, giant trees, herons, camungos, shanshos, and countless other species.

Arrive at the port of Nauta and board a fully equipped motorboat with life jackets and safety equipment. Begin navigating the Marañón River toward the protected areas of Pacaya Samiria.
Reach the control post of Yana Yacu Pucate, one of the main gateways to the reserve. Continue toward Buenos Aires community, observing birds, river dolphins, and lush riverine jungle.
