The Three Rivers Discovery Program is a full-day Amazon experience designed for travelers who want to explore the cultural, natural, and ecological richness of the Peruvian Amazon in a single, comfortable day.
Your journey begins at Bellavista Nanay Market, a vibrant riverside hub where local vendors offer fresh Amazonian fruits, spices, jungle products, and traditional snacks. It’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in daily life and learn about the flavors of the region.
From Bellavista, your boat navigates toward the majestic encounter of the Nanay and Amazon Rivers, a unique natural spectacle where two rivers of different colors meet and flow together. This is also an ideal area for wild pink and grey dolphin spotting, offering magical wildlife moments in their natural habitat.
The journey continues to Padrecocha, a quiet riverside community that hosts Pilpintuwasi, one of Iquitos’ most important wildlife rescue and butterfly conservation centers. Here, you’ll discover the fascinating life cycle of Amazonian butterflies, walk through a live butterfly garden, and learn about Pilpintuwasi’s rescue programs for animals such as monkeys, ocelots, and other species saved from illegal trafficking.
Finally, you visit the traditional Kukama Maloca, where members of the Kukama Kukamiria Indigenous nation share their ancestral stories, traditional dances, artisanal craftwork, and cultural practices.
After this enriching experience, the boat returns to Bellavista Nanay, and we transfer you back to your hotel.
